Associate Pastor - Worship and Family Ministries

Overview:

We are looking for a musically-gifted, committed Christian leader who has a passion for worship and for the next generation to support and work alongside the Lead Pastor. The ideal candidate has experience leading worship and it is preferred that they also have experience leading children, youth, parents, and adult volunteers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Lead Pastor to plan worship services
  • Lead the musical portion of worship services
  • Oversee the musical ministries in the church
  • Identify, develop, and deploy new volunteers in church’s worship and family ministries including
  • worship leaders
  • Shepherd, train, manage, and care for volunteers in these areas
  • Develop an annual budget for music and family ministries
  • Oversee the church’s worship tech ministry
  • Attend all church staff meetings and retreats
  • Work in conjunction with Christian Life Coordinator to support and help to lead family ministries
  • with an emphasis on youth ministry
  • Lead efforts to assist parents in the discipleship of their children
  • Participate in general pastoral duties as needed (preaching, weddings, funerals, counseling, etc.)
  • Work with the Lead Pastor to help create intergenerational connections between peoples of all
  • ages and stages to build meaningful relationships within the congregation
  • Any other duties as assigned relating to the candidates unique skills and gifting
  • The associate pastor will be evaluated regularly based on goals set together with the Lead Pastor


  • Requirements:
  • Have a clear calling to pastoral ministry and a proclivity to leadership
  • An evident, faithful, growing, and passionate relationship and love for the Lord Jesus Christ
  • Theological degree from an accredited theological institution
  • Skill as a vocalist and instrumentalist
  • Committed to ongoing learning and personal development of both character and skills through
  • formal and/or informal studies
  • Understanding of and supportive to the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene, the Christian
  • faith, and adherence to our statement of faith as published in The Manual
  • Character and a lifestyle consistent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9)
